Harold D. Debolt, 88, of Syracuse, IN passed away at 9:50 p.m. on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Syracuse, IN. He was born on May 15, 1930 in Plymouth, IN to John & Jessie (Lacarte) DeBolt.
He was a lifetime Noble & Kosciusko County area resident, attended Ligonier Public Schools, and was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War. On December 10, 1955 in Columbia City, IN he married Norma R. Stabler, who survives. He retired in 1995 from Verkler Construction Company in South Bend, IN and had worked in the construction business for 45 years.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 223 in Syracuse, Union Local 645, and former member of the Professional Bull Riders Association.
He is survived by:
Wife – Norma DeBolt of Syracuse
Daughter – Tammy (Danny) Shoopman of Milford
2 Granddaughters – Stacy (Richard) Shery of Milford & Tabetha (Travis) McCoy of Etna Green
5 Gt. Grandchildren
He was preceded by in death by his parents, gt. granddaughter – Mackenzie McCoy, 6 sisters – Gladys Cripe, Peggy Neal, Alice Zumbrun, Christine Neal, Ruth Craft, and Joan Blake, and 5 brothers – Kenneth, Raymond, David, Robert and Francis DeBolt.
Visitation will be 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 3, 2018 at Owen family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 4, 2018 in the funeral home Burial will follow in Oak Park Cemetery in Ligonier with military graveside rites.
Memorial bequest may be given to Riley Hospital for Children, 702 Barnhill Dr., Indianapolis, IN 46202.
