Harold L. Perkins, 66, of Syracuse, IN passed away at 4:54 p.m. on Thursday, April 18, 2013 at IU Goshen Hospital in Goshen, IN. He was born on May 26, 1946 in Jackson County, MO to Harold W. & Ruby F. (Mace) Perkins.

He grew up in the St. Louis, Mo area and graduated from High School in Missouri. He also graduated from Colorado State University and served in the United States Marines during Vietnam. He was married on September 22, 2009 in Goshen, IN to Shireen D. “Dee Dee” (Hoover) Davis who survives. He formerly traveled through the United States for RGIS, converting acquisition stores into CVS Stores from 2000 – 2005; was a computer administrator for Pacifica Inc. in Pacifica, CA from 1996 – 2000; and formerly worked at the Hunt Club in Colorado.

He moved to Syracuse in 2002 from California was a former member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

He is survived by:
Wife – “Dee Dee” Perkins of Syracuse
5 Daughters – Victoria Lynn Steele of Mesa, AZ; Rebecca Alene (Kirk) Stanton of Wichita, KS; Angela Jean Perkins, Stephanie Michelle Perkins & Sarah Elizabeth Perkins  all of Grandview, MO
2 Sons – William Albert Perkins of Saginaw, TX & Michael Edward Perkins of Audubon, IA
9 Grand & 3 Step Grandchildren
2 Step Daughters – Stephenie (Forrest) Boesenberg & Shaundra (Todd) Jones both of Syracuse.

He was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter – Rebecca Perkins

Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 on Monday, April 22, 2013 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN.  Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at the funeral home with Pastor Dave Boesenberg of the Cromwell United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Syracuse Cemetery.

Memorial bequest may be given the Harold Perkins Funeral Fund, c/o Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN 46567. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
