Harold Leroy Brumm

Harold Leroy Brumm, 89, of Syracuse, IN passed away at 11:40 p.m. on Friday, December 6, 2019 at his home. He was born on December 28, 1929 in Portland, IN to Fred & Lena (Roser) Brumm.

He graduated from Portland High School & Indiana University in Bloomington, IN and was a United States Air Force veteran. He was married on June 10, 1955 in Portland, IN to Mona Lou Huey who survives. He retired as a loan officer from Citizens Federal Savings & Loan in Hammond & Munster after several years. He grew up in Portland, lived in Munster, IN, and moved to Syracuse in 1992 where he had a cottage since 1977.

He was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church in Syracuse, Wawasee Kiwanis Club in Syracuse, and former member of the Kiwanis Club in Hammond & Munster.

He is survived by:

Wife – Mona Lou Brumm of Syracuse

Daughter – Karen (John Settle) Leewood of Indianapolis

Son – Steven (Mary Ann) Brumm of Cornelius, NC

7 Grand & 2 Gt. Grandsons

Sister – Wanda Butcher of Angola

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter – Laurie Duke, grandson – Elliott Brumm, sister – Martha Rockwell, and brother – Earl Brumm.

Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. St. Rd 15, Warsaw, IN. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at Calvary United Methodist Church, 801 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN. Memorial services will follow at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday  in the church with Pastor David Henry officiating. Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN is in charge of arrangements. Burial will take place in the Mt. Zion Cemetery at a later date.
