Harry E. Minnick, 87, of Ligonier (formerly of North Webster & Syracuse) passed away at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at his home. He was born on August 13, 1925 in South Bend, IN to Harry L. & Clara Etta (Hurley) Minnick.
He was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko / Noble counties, attended York Center & Cromwell public schools and was a WW II United States Navy Veteran. On November 23, 1946 in North Webster, IN he married Betty J. Paulus who preceded him on February 13, 2012 and he was a self employed maintenance man.
He was a member of American Legion Post 253 in North Webster, V.F.W. Post 1342 in Syracuse and a former member of the Masonic Lodge in Milford & Scottish Rite in Fort Wayne.
He is survived by:
1 Daughter – Suzanne Shock of Ligonier
3 Sons - Mike (wife, Lori) Minnick of Ligonier; Matt (wife, Kristi) Minnick of Sarasota, FL; & Marshall (wife, Linda) Minnick of Syracuse
12 Grand, 17 Gt. Grand, 2 Gt. Gt. Grandchildren
He was preceded by his parents, 3 Sons – Mark Minnick and infant twin sons,
& 3 Brothers – Orville L., Robert M., & Schyler E. Minnick
Visitation will be from 2:00- 4:00 & 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 19, 2012 at Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd 13 & CR 500N, North Webster. Graveside services will be at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 20, 2012 in the Mock Addition of the North Webster Cemetery with Pastor Steve Linebaugh of the Believers Fellowship Church in Middlebury officiating. Military graveside rites will be performed by the North Webster American Legion.
