Heidi Linn (Knauss)

January 29, 1933 — March 17, 2021

Heidi K. Linn, 88, peacefully went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 in Grand Rapids, Michigan while in the presence of her daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren. Heidi was born in Hohenstaufen, Germany on January 29, 1933 to Christian and Pauline Knauss. She trusted Jesus Christ as her Savior as a 14-year-old. Her life was characterized by fervent faith and a commitment to prayer. Heidi and her family’s documented resistance in the most challenging of times leading up to and during World War II is both somber and inspirational.

She and Walter Linn were united in marriage on December 3, 1955, in Germany, where they met while he was serving in the US Army. Heidi lived in Warsaw with her husband for fifty years where she raised their three daughters and later welcomed her grandchildren with chocolates, fresh tomatoes from her garden, stories of her childhood, and an endless supply of books. She worked in the accounting department of R.R Donnelley & Sons from where she retired. Heidi and Walt were active members of Community Grace Brethren and Lakeland Grace Brethren Churches. Heidi was an avid reader, a lover of classical music and German composers with an impressive record collection, and a love for mountains unhampered by her many years surrounded by Indiana’s farmland and plains. Her life demonstrated the value of faithfulness, determination, and resilience.

Heidi is survived by her daughter, Heidi (Mark) Jamesen; three grandchildren: Sarah, Rachel and Luke Jamesen; sister, Traudel Forward and brother, Juergen Knauss. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter; and daughters: Kyra (Sharon) Linn and Helga Tess.

A Life Celebration® is planned at Titus Funeral Home, 2000 East Sheridan Street, Warsaw where her life will be celebrated on Friday, March 26, 2021 with a service beginning at 1 p.m. followed by visitation for friends and family from 2 to 3 p.m. Interment will follow in Warsaw’s Oakwood Cemetery. Pastor Russ Simpson of Calvary Grace Brethren Church in Alto, Michigan, and formerly of Lakeland Grace Brethren Church, will officiate.
