Helen E. Smith

Helen Eloise Smith, 93, of Warsaw, IN passed away at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Kosciusko Community Hospital in Warsaw following a short illness surrounded by her family. Helen was born on December 14, 1921 in Warsaw to James O. & Nellie (Devenney) Tuttle.

She graduated in 1940 from Larwill High School and was married on October 31, 1942 in Paris, TX to Keith H. Smith who preceded her on October 25, 2008. She retired in 1984 from DePuy in Warsaw in the shipping / receiving department after 22 years and was formerly employed at Controls in North Manchester & Whitley Products in Pierceton. She was a lifetime Whitley / Kosciusko County area resident and wintered with her husband for 22 years in Apache Junction, AZ.

She is survived by:

Daughter – Marcia (Steve) Randolph of Warsaw

3 Sons - Phil (Kim) Smith of Leesburg; Ron (Toni) Smith of Indianapolis; & Stan (partner, Linda Last) Smith of Mesquite, TX

4 Grand & 19 Gt. Grandchildren

Sister – Marilynne Curtis of Warsaw

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson – Patrick Wiseman, 2 sisters – Marjorie Tuttle & Betty Burnworth, and 3 brothers – Maurice, Gordon & John Tuttle.

Visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd. 13 & CR 500N, North Webster, IN. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday in the funeral home with Chaplain, Forrest Tabor officiating. Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County in Warsaw with private family burial to take place in the Hillcrest Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial bequests may be given to American Legion Auxiliary Post 253 in North Webster, IN. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
