Helen Irene Wagoner, 98, of North Webster, IN passed away at 7:44 p.m. on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at her home. She was born on January 31, 1919 in North Webster, IN to Roy A. & Estella (Correll) Miller.
She was a lifetime area resident and graduated in 1937 from North Webster High School. On March 3, 1940 in Leesburg, IN she married Mervin Woodrow "Merv" Wagoner who preceded her on January 10, 1989. She was a homemaker, former manager of the Al-N-Dee Restaurant in North Webster, and former telephone operator for United Telephone in North Webster and Pierceton.
She was a member of Salem Community Church in Wilmot and a life member of American Legion Auxiliary Post 253 in North Webster.
She was survived by:
3 Daughters- Linda S. Shepherd of North Webster, Pamela J. Hopkins of Warsaw, & Carole A. Adkins of North Webster
1 Son- Mervin Woodrow “Woody” (Teri) Wagoner II of Washington, NJ
9 Grandchildren – Kimberly (Richard) Owen, Mark (Lisa) Wagoner, Matthew (Terri) Wagoner, Jeffrey (Julie) Shepherd, Mitchell Wagoner, Paula (Steve) Foltz, P. Dean Hopkins, Michael (Angie) Shepherd, Dann (Brigitta) Adkins
2 Step Granddaughters – Stephanie Kuhn & Brittany (Bill) Tishuk
22 Gt. Grand, 7 Step Gt. Grand, 30 Gt. Gt. Grand, and 3 Step Gt. Gt. Grand

She was preceded by her parents, husband, son- Leslie LeRoy Wagoner, great grandson – Robert Allen Owen, 3 sisters- Jane Campbell, Mildred Cotton, & Ellen Stump, brother- Joseph Miller and 3 sons in law – Dan Shepherd, Paul Hopkins, & Don Adkins.
Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Owen Family Funeral Home. St. Rd. 13 & C.R. 500N, North Webster. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at the funeral home with Pastor Mark Wagoner of the First Church of God in Neon, KY and Pastor Gary Colby of the Salem Community Church officiating. Burial will be in North Webster Cemetery.
