Ida Serantes

Ida Serantes, 100, of Syracuse, IN (formerly of New Jersey) passed away at 8:14 a.m. on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at her granddaughter’s home in Syracuse, IN. She was born on November 10, 1920 in New York, NY to Gullermo & Regina (Mejuta) Perez.

She attended high school in Newark, NJ and was married to Jesus Serantes who preceded her in 2009. She was a homemaker, formerly worked in a factory, and lived most of her life in New Jersey before moving to Syracuse in February 2021 to be with her granddaughter.

She was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star in New Jersey.

She is survived by:

Granddaughter – Robin (Mark Lawson) Barney of Syracuse

Grandson – John (Erin) Taveres of Little Silver, NJ

4 Gt. Grandchildren

Brother – Milky Perez

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter – Delores Tavares, and 3 siblings.

Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. St. Rd. 15, Warsaw, IN. No public services will be held at this time. Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN is in charge of arrangements.
