Iliene M. Hight

Iliene Mary Hight,  passed away on May 4, 2024 at home after a brief illness. She was 90 years old and led a full, active life.

Iliene was born on July 27,1933 in Argos, IN to parents: Frank and Ocie Hardesty and was one of twelve children.  She graduated from Argos High School and spent much of her adult life in South Bend before settling in Warsaw after retirement.

After raising her three children, IIiene dedicated more than 33 years to Martin's Supermarket on Elwood Street in South Bend; she retired in 2006. More personally, she is remembered for her love of family, for hunting and fishing -both with her late husband- and time spent with her grandchildren, watching them grow up from her lakeside home. Additionally, she spent many, many hours quilting; she made quilts numbering in the hundreds. Many friends and family have them as treasured gifts.

Iliene was preceded in passing by daughter, Sheryl L. Leddy (1997) and by her husband, Ted R. Hight (2003).  She is survived by daughter, Teri Hight; son, Jeff Hight (wife, Diane) and son-in-law, Frank Leddy (husband of Sheryl). She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild - all of whom she adored.

Titus Funeral Home, 2000 Sheridan Street, Warsaw is entrusted with care of Iliene and her family. Visitors may join them at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 from 1 to 3 p.m. Her life will be further celebrated in a graveside service on Thursday, May 9th at Southlawn Cemetery, 61430 IN-931, South Bend, IN - graveside will begin at 11a.m.
