Iolah Mae Vernier

Iolah Mae Vernier 91, of Syracuse, IN passed away at 6:20 a.m. on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at I.U. Goshen Hospital in Goshen, IN. She was born on May 1, 1921 in Hillsdale County, MI to Floyd R. and Lula Bell (Blount) Annis.

She graduated in 1939 from Frontier High School in Frontier, MI and on July 21, 1939 in Angola, IN she married Donald H. Vernier who preceded her on March 9, 2006. She was the former owner and operator of Lac La Belle Resort in Watersmeet, MI for 30 years and was a member of Land O’ Lakes Bible Church in Land O’ Lakes, WI. She has been a Syracuse area resident since 1998 coming here from Land O’ Lakes, WI.

She is survived by:
Daughter – Sherrie Shafer of Syracuse, IN

She was preceded by her parents, husband, infant sister & infant brother.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 25, 2013 at the Frontier Cemetery, Clark Rd., Frontier MI with Rev. Don Gentry of the New Hope United Brethren Church in Camden, MI officiating.

Memorial bequest may be given to Donor’s Choice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
