Jack Rhodes

Jack V. Rhodes, 82, of North Webster, IN passed away at 7:20 a.m. on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at Kosciusko Community Hospital in Warsaw, IN. He was born on April 28, 1929 in Pierceton, IN to John A. & Martha L. (Roberts) Rhodes.
He was a lifetime North Webster area resident and graduated in 1947 from North Webster High School. He was a United States Army Korean Veteran. He was married on October 8, 1955 in Etna, IN to Marilyn J. Ringler who survives. He was employed at Jackson Oil in North Webster since 2009 and was formerly employed at Pure Oil from 1955-1962 & Crystal Flash from 1962 – 2009 where he was the manager.
He was a member of the Salem Community Missionary Church in Wilmot & Life member of the American Legion Post 253 in North Webster. He was a former member of the North Webster Lions Club.
He is survived by:
Wife – Marilyn Rhodes of North Webster
Daughter – Tim (Bobbie) Torrance of Middlebury
3 Sons – Vince (wife, Denise) Rhodes of North Webster; Tim (wife, Janie) Rhodes of Leesburg; & Jim (wife, Lisa) Rhodes of Pierceton
8 Grandchildren -
Aubrey, Kayla, Austin, Devyn, Collin, Matthew, Tyler, & Grace
Sister – Mrs. Hal (Peggy) Minear of North Webster
3 Brothers – Gordon Rhodes of Milford; Norman “Dick” (wife, Sara) Rhodes of Warsaw; & Jerry (wife, Julia) of North Webster
He was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter – Kristina Schopf, 2 sisters – Rose Hendricks & Evelyn Duke, brother – Robert Rhodes.
Visitation will be from 2:00 – 5:00 & 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 9, 2011 at Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd. 13 & CR 500N, North Webster, IN. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at the funeral home with Jack L. Stump officiating. Burial will follow in the Salem Cemetery in Wilmot, IN.
