Jack A. Peterson

Jack A. Peterson, 64, of Syracuse, IN passed away at 4:55 p.m. on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at Goshen General Hospital. He was born on July 8, 1946 in Decatur, IN to Ralph Carroll & Lucinda (Borne) Peterson.
He graduated in 1965 from Goshen High School and attended Ball State University in Muncie, IN. He was married on December 23, 1967 in Anderson, IN to Cynthia L. “Cindy” Thornburg who survives and moved to the Syracuse area in 1969 from Gas City.
He retired in 2001 from Northern Indiana Service Corporation (N.I.P.S.Co) after 35 years of service as a heavy equipment operator and was a member of the Wawasee Lakeside Chapel in Syracuse.
He is survived by:
Wife – Cindy Peterson of Syracuse
Daughter – Mrs. James (Janay) Hackleman of Syracuse
Son – Chris (wife, Lisa) Peterson of Syracuse
4 Grandchildren – Lukas, Jack, Mackenzie, & Colin
2 Sisters – Mrs. Roland (Sandy) Eby of Wakarusa & Linda Orr of Peru
Sister in law – Jana Thornburg of Anderson
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother – Ralph Peterson.
Visitation will be from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 18, 2010 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 19, 2010 at the funeral home with Rev. Harlan Steffen of the church officiating. Burial will follow in the McClintic Cemetery in Syracuse.
Memorial bequest may be given to Turkey Creek Township Fire Territory Dept., 310 N. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN 46567. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
