J. Bruce Bricker passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at 2:29 a.m. in Fort Wayne at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home. He was surrounded by love from his family at the time of his passing.
Bruce was born on March 21, 1942 in Greenville, Illinois to James Bricker and Dixie (Harper) Bricker. The family moved often with his father’s job and Bruce graduated from high school in Crawfordsville, Indiana.
Shortly after graduating, Bruce moved to Warsaw and took a job with R.R. Donnelley and Sons. His job turned into a career to which he would dedicate more than 40 years, retiring as a Quality Analyst.
Bruce was married to Debbie Dye on August 22, 1975 in Nashville, Tennessee. Together the two shared more than 42 years before his passing.
Bruce loved to cook and enjoyed golfing, both of which he was quite good at. He liked spending time outdoors, especially fishing and camping. He was a HUGE fan of IU Basketball and enjoyed music from the Oak Ridge Boys. Most of all he was a low-key, casual guy who enjoyed time with friends and family.
Those who survive Bruce with memories to treasure include his wife: Debbie Bricker of Tippecanoe Lake; three children: daughter, Laurie (Kevin) Vachon of Fort Wayne, son Beau Bricker of Noblesville, IN and daughter, Trudi Williams of Nashville, TN; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in passing are his parents and brother, Raymond Bricker.
The family will visit with friends on Friday, December 29th in Titus Funeral Home, 2000 East Sheridan Street, Warsaw, from Noon to 1 p.m. Bruce’s family will celebrate his life privately in a service officiated by friend, Malcolm “Mack” Moore with burial in Warsaw’s Oakwood Cemetery.
As they took such great care of Bruce in his final days, the family has asked that memorial donations be made to Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home. Your gift can be addressed to the following: Visiting Nurse Foundation, 5910 Homestead Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46814.
The staff of Titus Funeral Home considers it a privilege and is honored to be trusted with the care of Bruce Bricker and his family.
