James Hyde

May 13, 1943 — June 22, 2016

James E. “Jim” Hyde passed away on the afternoon of June 22, 2016. At the time of his passing, he was surrounded by his loving family in his Warsaw, Indiana home. Jim was 73.

Born on May 13, 1943 he was the son of Ira Lee and Lillian Morean (Beatty) Hyde.

Jim enlisted in the US Army and, on December 8, 1969, he entered into active service at Fort Hood, Texas. He served as both a personnel clerk and in vehicle maintenance. E-4 James E. Hyde was honorably discharged from Fort Dix, New Jersey on December 11, 1975.

Jim spent most of his lifetime in the Warsaw area and worked for Warsaw Foundry. He loved to hunt and fish and was a proud member of both the NRA and North American Hunting Club. He enjoyed watching Bonanza and Gunsmoke on CH 244 and attended Early Apostolic Bible Training Center in Claypool, Indiana.

Those left to cherish his memory are his companion of 42 years, Karen Heeter of Warsaw; three daughters, Lynn (Matt) Minick of Indianapolis, IN, Kay (David) Brooks of Peru, IN, and Rosie (Scott) Cothran of Orange, TX; son, Russell Heeter of Warsaw; sister, Carolyn Pratt of Warsaw; two brothers, Charles Hyde and Ira Hyde, Jr., both of Warsaw; many grandchildren; one great-grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews; and his four-legged protector, Jo-Jo.

Preceding Jim in death are his parents, Ira Hyde, Sr. and Lillian Hyde; his brother, Robert Hyde; and three sisters, Janice Smith, Dorothy Hyde and Brenda Hyde.

Friends may join the family for a time of visitation on Tuesday, June 28th in Titus Funeral Home, 2000 East Sheridan Street, Warsaw, from 10 am to Noon. A funeral service will follow the visitation, beginning at 12 o’clock, Noon in the funeral home. Pastor Dean Ealey of Early Apostolic Bible Training Center and Pastor Bob Brown of God’s Highway to Heaven Church will officiate. Burial will be in Warsaw’s Oakwood Cemetery with military graveside honors conducted by Warsaw’s American Legion Post #49 and VFW Post #1126.

Gifts in memory of Jim may be given to the family and will be used at their discretion. Please make your gift payable to Karen Heeter.
