James Anthony Krzyzanowski, known affectionately as Jim or "Shiz," passed away on June 22, 2024, at the age of 62, surrounded by his loving family. He leaves behind a profound legacy as a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Jim is survived by his devoted wife and high school sweetheart of 25 years, Wendy (nee Kirsch) Krzyzanowski; his cherished son, Michael Victor Krzyzanowski (Jessica Witte) and his two step-children Melanie Verburg-Williams (Andrew Williams) and Brian Woolwine (Marissa Murphy); four grandchildren; his siblings, Michael Krzyzanowski (Bonnie), John Krzyzanowski (Mary), Mary (nee Krzyzanowski) Ross (Joe Ross), and Joseph Krzyzanowski (Laura Straw); and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; and his loyal dogs, Cooper and Blondie. He was preceded in death by his parents, Victor Herbert and Frances Wanda (nee Stempien) Krzyzanowski, and his brothers, Victor Gerard Krzyzanowski and Daniel Paul Krzyzanowski.

Born on January 13, 1962, in Buffalo, New York, Jim spent his formative years in his beloved hometown before moving to Fort Wayne, Indiana, where he built a beautiful family and a distinguished career. He graduated from Bishop Turner High School in 1980 and earned dual bachelor’s degrees from Niagara University in Mathematics (1984) and Computer Science (1986). He furthered his education with a Master of Engineering in Software Engineering from the State University of New York at Buffalo (1988-1991).

Jim began his career as a software engineer at Bell Aerospace Textron in Buffalo, contributing to projects like the Mobile Microwave Landing System for the US Air Force. He later joined Raytheon Systems Company (formerly known as Magnavox) in Fort Wayne and Tewksbury, MA working on critical defense projects including the Advanced Field Artillery Tactical Data System for the US Marine Corps. Jim's dedication to his work and pride in serving his country were evident throughout his career. After 35 years of service at Raytheon, Jim retired to their lake home in northern Indiana with his wife, Wendy, and their two dogs, Cooper and Blondie.

Outside of work, Jim was deeply committed to his community. He volunteered as a Cub Scout and Boy Scout leader, serving as the Cub Scout Pack 3333 Committee Chairman (2002-2012), Advancement Chairman (2005-2012), and Den 8 Den Leader (2007-2012). In 2009, he received the Anthony Wayne Area Council Miami District Commissioner of the Year Award. Jim also dedicated 12 years to volunteering with the Homestead Spartan Alliance Marching Band while his children were involved in the program.

He was a proud and active member of The Chapel in Fort Wayne, participating in his Life Group weekly. Jim cherished time spent with his family and friends, sharing "The Best Time" stories and his passion for history, politics, and his hometown's cuisine – especially chicken wings and pizza from Bocce Club Pizza. A lifelong fan of the Buffalo Bills, Jim's enthusiasm for life was infectious, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew him.
