James A. “Jim” Priser passed away unexpectedly while surrounded by his family Monday, October 31, 2016, at 1:32 p.m. in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Jim was born January 13, 1955 in Warsaw, Indiana to James M. and Shirley (Harmon) Priser. He would live in Warsaw his entire life. Jim was a 1973 graduate of Warsaw Community High School and had also attended classes at NIKON Photography.
Jim and Sally Hogan were joined in marriage June 11, 1977 in Warsaw. They would share 39 years.
Jim was a maintenance supervisor at Dalton Foundries. He was the owner of Lake City Arms and Jim Priser Photography. He was a pioneer for digitizing photography which included the creation of GIF and JPG files. His photography has been featured in Sports Illustrated, JPL, NASA and Microsoft. He was a brilliant inventor as he built and designed computer controlled machinery and held several patents. He was the owner and CEO of Control Technology, Inc. from 1983 – 2006.
He was a member of the NRA, enjoyed photography, computer technology and fishing. He loved going to fish fries and was an avid reader. Jim loved his family – especially his grandchildren.
He will be deeply missed by his family, especially Sally, his devoted wife; 4 daughters and sons-in-law: Sara and Rich Larocque, Warsaw; Stacy Priser, Warsaw; Kari and Derek Flores-Lefranc of Austin, Texas; and Michelle and Jason Stephenson of Milford, Indiana; 2 sons and daughter-in-law: Matthew Priser, Warsaw; and Keith and Heather Priser, Claypool, Indiana; 10 grandchildren: Megan, Jolie, Ahnalia, Tanner, Mia, Scarlett, Alice, Nathaniel, Helen and Jasmine; his mother: Shirley Priser, Warsaw; brother: Jack (Joyce) Priser of Bourbon, Indiana; father-in-law: Rex Hogan; and lastly his best little buddy: his dog Rufus.
Jim was preceded in death by his father: James W. Priser on January 4, 1992 and a granddaughter: Madelyn Stephenson on January 3, 2014.
Family and friends will come together for a time of sharing memories at Titus Funeral Home Friday, November 4th from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. A service celebrating Jim’s life will take place Saturday morning beginning at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Pastor Mike Settles of Claypool United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
