James Dean Witham, a beloved son, father, grandfather, and friend, sadly passed away unexpectedly at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne on Thursday, March 14, 2024, at the age of 49. He was born in Plymouth, Indiana, on January 14, 1975, to Christopher Witham and Connie Hite.

On April 6, 2001, he married Shannon Heiman. The two shared 23 years together before his passing. James brought joy and laughter to all those around him with his jokester personality and ornery charm.

In his free time, James found happiness in the great outdoors through hunting and fishing. He also cherished moments spent with his family, creating memories that will be treasured forever. His favorite thing to do was scare his family; he especially loved a good “jump” scare.

James is survived by his wife, Shannon, and loving children, Tyler (Mackenzie) Humphries and Sabrina (Dakota Young) Witham. He will also be deeply missed by his grandchildren: Quentin Humphries, Luca James Young, and Graylin Reiff; as well as his parents, Chris (Mary) Witham and Connie (Johnny) Hite. Additionally, James leaves behind his siblings: Judie Witham, Daniel Witham, Maggie Witham, Pete Peterson, Edna Heiman, Thomas (Niki) Heiman, Richard Heiman, and Natasha (Gary) Borton and cousin, Ciara Peterson. He was a proud uncle to Tressalynn Witham, Shasta Daniels, Lacey Hall, Emily Witham, Aurora Heiman, Christian Witham, Corbin Peterson, Camdin Peterson, Ryan Heiman, Juston Heiman; and Riley Borton. He is further survived by many extended family members and friends. He was preceded in passing by his grandparents, Ned and Sandra Witham, Betty Helvey and Lester Williams along with aunts: Mary Spore and Judie Lamb-Huffman and cousins: Scott Davidson and Robert Witham.

Titus Funeral Home of Warsaw is entrusted with the care of James and his family.  His family will be having a celebration of life on April 6th, 2024, at the Mentone Youth League from noon to 6:00 p.m.  To leave a condolence, please visit www.TitusFuneralHome.com
