James C. "Jim" Chapman

James C. “Jim” Chapman Jr., 86, of North Webster, IN passed away at 11:45 p.m. on Saturday, September 22, 2012 at Mason Health & Rehab in Warsaw. He was born on July 7, 1926 in New Smyrna Beach, FL to James C. & Mary Iona (Settle) Chapman.

He attended public schools in Florida and was a United States Army Veteran. He was married to Sarah L. McCleskey and she preceded him in 2002. He retired from Leaseway Transportation Corporation after 40 years as a truck driver and had moved to the North Webster area 25 years ago from Chicago, IL.

He was a member of the American Legion Post 253 in North Webster.

He is survived by:
Daughter – Mrs. Frank (Sarah “Joan”) Moore of Hanover Park, IL
2 Grand – Logan & Taylor
1 Gt. Granddaughter - Gabriella
Companion – Anne Sickmiller of Leesburg

He was preceded in death by his parents & wife.

Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd. 13 & CR 500N, North Webster with Chaplain Jeff Spickelmier officiating.  Military services will follow at the funeral home by American Legion Post 253.

Memorial bequest may be given to the American Legion Post 253, P.O. Box 131, North Webster, IN 46555. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
