James D. “Jim or Sarge” Sweazy, 64, of Syracuse, IN passed away at 7:41 a.m. on Sunday, August 22, 2021 at his home. He was born on April 3, 1957 in Elkhart, IN to Walter James & Nancy (Russ) Sweazy.
He grew in in Elkhart, graduated in 1975 from Concord High School in Elkhart, and moved to the Syracuse area in 1984. He was married on November 10, 1984 in Goshen, IN to Debbie L. Bartow who survives. He formerly worked at Brunk Plastic Services in Goshen for 20 years, Nibco in Goshen for several years, and was an avid Chicago Bears fan.
He is survived by:

3 Sons – Derek Sweazy & Scot Sweazy both of San Francisco, CA and Rob (Emily) Morren of Goshen
Many other “Adopted Sons” including - Nate Goldenberg & Drew Evans
2 Sisters – Lisa Sunday of Elkhart & Keven (Dave) Hewitt of West Lafayette, IN
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. St. Rd. 15, Warsaw, IN. A Celebration of Life gathering will be from 2:00 – dark on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at the Sweazy home, 8864 E. Black Point Rd., Syracuse, IN. A service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday at the Sweazy home.
Preferred memorials may be given to the New Hope Pet Rescue, 72555 Co Rd 29, Syracuse, IN 46567.
