James "Jim" M. Mench

James M. “Jim” Mench, 62, of Syracuse, IN passed away at 12:15 a.m. on Thursday, December 3, 2015 at Lakeland Rehab & Healthcare in Milford, IN. He was born on June 9, 1953 in Goshen, IN to James M. & Ruth E. (Knisley) Mench.
He was a lifetime Syracuse area resident and graduated in 1973 from Wawasee High School in Syracuse. He retired in 2008 from Dana Corporation (Formerly Weatherhead) in Syracuse after 30 years.
He enjoyed being physically fit and spent lots of time over the years at the Fitness Firm, R & R Fitness and Lakeside Fitness in Syracuse.
He is survived by:
2 Sons – Jeremiah Mench of Syracuse & Jason (Kyra) Mench of Marion
2 Brothers – Dennis (Pam) Mench of Syracuse & Tom Mench of Billings, MT
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother – Jeffrey Mench.
Visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN. Memorial services will follow at 7:00 on Wednesday in the funeral home with Pastor Stan Owen of the Syracuse Church of God officiating. Cremation will take place at cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. St. Rd. 15, Warsaw, IN. Private cremation burial will take place in the Syracuse Cemetery.
