James R. “Jim” Close, 76, of North Webster, IN passed away at 8:40 a.m. on Monday, February 7, 2022 at his home. He was born on October 9, 1945 in Bangor, Maine to Clarence & Murriel (Hartt) Close.
He grew up in Lynn, MA, graduated from Lynn Technical School in Lynn, MA, and was a United States Navy veteran. He lived in Warsaw / North Webster area for the past 35 years. He formerly was a manager of a housing complex in Manchester, NH and worked at Jellystone Campground in Pierceton.
He attended the Church of the Brethren in North Webster.
He is survived by:
2 Sisters – Nancy Chandler & Joanne (Leo) Womack both of Massachusetts
2 Brothers – Clarence Close of Florida & Nathan Close of New Hampshire
Adopted family – Sheila (Richard) Smith & Fred (Sherry) Rosbrugh
Grandchildren – Joe (Jayme) Smith, Josh (Karina) Smith, Nichole (Jake) Roberson, and Kyle & Oren Rosbrugh
Gt. Grandchildren – Leylah, Logan, Collin, Trinity, JJ, Zoie, Joey, and Rebel
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers- Harry & John Close, and longtime companion – Doreen Rosbrugh.
Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. St. Rd. 15, Warsaw, IN. Visitation will be from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at the Church of the Brethren, 7281 E. 600N, North Webster, IN. Memorial services will follow at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday in the church with Pastor Bob Wyman officiating. Private burial will be in the Oakwood Cemetery in Warsaw at a later date.
