Janet A. Perzee, 68, of Pierceton, IN passed away at 2:30 a.m. on Friday, August 21, 2015 at I.U. Goshen Hospital in Goshen, IN. She was born on June 2, 1947 in Pontiac, IL to Gilbert & Ferne (Stalter) Yordy.
She graduated in 1965 from Eureka High School in Eureka, IL, in 1969 from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, IL, received her Master’s Degree from Indiana / Purdue University in Fort Wayne, and her Reading Recovery Teachers Certification from Purdue University. She was married on June 28, 1969 in Eureka, IL to Thomas L. “Tom” Perzee who survives, and moved to the North Webster / Pierceton area in 1987 from South Bend.
She retired in 2014 from Wawasee Community School Corporation as a Reading Interventionist and former Reading Recovery teacher leader / trainer. She had also taught in Cedar Lake, IN, Tennessee & Pennsylvania for a total of 34 years in teaching. She and her husband were camp directors for Camp Good News near North Webster and are the owner / operators of Mel’s Pony Rides & Petting Zoo in Pierceton. She formerly attended Pleasant View Bible Church in Warsaw.
She is survived by:

Sister – Mary Alice (Kent) Elliott of Sunset Beach, MO
Brother – David (Marilyn) Yordy of DeKalb, IL
Several Nieces & Nephews
She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 infant sons – James, Timothy & Paul Perzee, & a brother.
Visitation will be from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Monday, August 24, 2015 at Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd. 13 & CR 500N, North Webster, IN. Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at the funeral home with Arthur Blaker of Send International officiating. Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County in Warsaw with burial to take place at a later date in the Lowell Memorial Cemetery in Lowell, IN.
Memorial bequests may be given to the donor’s choice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
