Janice E. "Jan" Fackler

Janice Elaine “Jan” Fackler, 70, of Syracuse, IN passed away at 7:45 p.m. on Monday, February 10, 2014 at her home. She was born on May 19, 1943 in Goshen, IN to M. Howard & Esther Berniece (Fisher) Berger.

She was a lifetime Nappanee / Syracuse area resident and graduated in 1961 from Nappanee High School. On July 19, 1963 in Nappanee, IN she married James L. “Jim” Fackler who survives. She retired in 2008 from Veada Industries in New Paris after 34 years of service.

She was a member of the Bethany Church of the Brethren in New Paris and a former member of the Church of the Brethren in Syracuse.

She is survived by:
Husband – Jim Fackler of Syracuse
Daughter – Karen Sue (Randall) Gill of Millersburg
Son – Jeffery Alan (Lori) Fackler of Penn Run, PA
4 Grandchildren
2 Sisters – Margaret Bell of Matteson, IL & Lynn Whittenberger of Kokomo, IN
2 Brothers – Steve (Connie) Berger of Wallingford, VT & Will Berger of Foreaker, IN

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister – Doris Ann Heckaman

Visitation will be from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. & 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 13, 2014 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, February 14, 2014 at the funeral with Pastor Tim Sollenberger – Morphew of the church officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery, CR 29, Syracuse, IN.

Memorial bequest may be given to Goshen Care at Home Hospice, P.O. Box 723, Goshen, IN 46526 or Center for Cancer Care, 200 High St., Goshen, IN 46526. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
