J. Chris Longenecker

J. Chris Longenecker, 61, of North Webster, IN passed away at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at I.U. Goshen Hospital in Goshen, IN. He was born on December 19, 1954 in New Castle, IN to Jerald Joe & Norma Elois (Bales) Longenecker.

He lived most of his life in the North Webster area and graduated in 1973 from Wawasee High School in Syracuse, IN. He was a United States veteran of the Air National Guard and was married on December 12, 1987 in Syracuse, IN to Melissa L. “Missy” Roberts who survives. He was employed at C.F.S. in Milford for 5 years as tender truck driver. He formerly worked at Wawasee Community School Corp. as the Wawasee Middle School custodian and at South Shore & Maxwelton Golf Clubs in Syracuse for several years.

He was a member of the American Legion Post 253 in North Webster & the North Webster Ski Bees and formerly attended the United Methodist Church in Syracuse & North Webster.

He is survived by:

Parents – Joe & Norma Longenecker of North Webster

Sister – Jennifer (Ken) Miller of Anderson, IN

Brother – Jay (Patty) Longenecker of Noblesville, IN

Father  & Mother in law – Dick & Sandy Roberts of North Webster

Brother in law – Ray (Rita) Roberts of Syracuse

Nieces & Nephews – Abbey, Bret, Molly, Casey, Cara, Chassitea, and Kelsea

Visitation will be from 2:00 – 4:00 & 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Monday, June 13. 2016 at Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd. 13 & CR 500N, North Webster, IN. Funeral services will follow on Monday in the funeral home with Pastor Bruce Giggy officiating. Military services will also be conducted by the North Webster American Legion Post 253. Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. St. Rd 15, Warsaw, IN.

Preferred memorials may be given to the Animal Welfare League of Kosciusko County, 3489 E. 100S, Pierceton, IN 46562. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
