Jean Arlene Heckaman

Jean Arlene Heckaman, 88, died on December 30, 2020 at North Woods Village in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
She was born March 16, 1932 in Chicago, Illinois and married Seward F. Heckaman in 1948, who preceded her in death in 2016. They were married for 68 years. Additionally, she was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Francis Kaufman, one brother four sisters.
She is survived by her daughter, Dorothy (Gene) Gillespie; son, David (Sonja) Heckaman; son, Dirk Heckaman; 11 grandchildren: Marilyn Porter, Kristy Tighe, Allen Gillespie, Aaron Heckaman, Aidan Heckaman, Illia Heckaman, Tristan Heckaman, Dan Heckaman, Desiree Odenbrett, Jennifer Jenkins and Jeremy Heckaman; and 21 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
She loved the Lord and her family and treasured all of her grandchildren. They lived many different places while Seward was in the Air Force but settled in Lompoc, California in 1964. After Seward’s passing, she came back to Indiana to be near family, where she spent her final years.
Arlene’s life will be celebrated by her family with a private memorial service. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, Indiana.
