Jennifer was born March 24, 1971 in Valparaiso, Indiana to John and Dorothy (Hoagland) Hanish. She was a 1989 graduate of Hebron High School, Hebron, Indiana.
She lived in Akron for 16 years having moved there from Hebron. A homemaker, Jen enjoyed cooking and decorating, socializing and dancing. She was a gifted poet penning many inspiring and heart felt poems. Jen was non-judgmental and accepting of everyone. Her big heart always gave way to helping others in any way she could with nothing expected in return. Most of all, Jenny loved her family. Family functions were a very special time for her.
Jen will be missed very much by her many friends; she will be deeply missed by her family including Troy Denton, her best friend and soul mate of 22 years; 2 sons: Tyler Hanish and his companion, Tori Furnivall, of Rochester, Indiana and Cody Denton, Akron; 1 daughter: Angela Denton, Akron; 3 grandchildren: Johnathan Hanish, Adrien Hanish and Cayden Furnivall; her parents: John and Dorothy “Dottie” Hanish of Beaver Dam, Indiana; father-in-law: David Denton of Hebron; 5 sisters: Sharon Prentice, Hobart, Indiana; Roxanne (and husband, Mike) Collins of Fair Oaks, Indiana; Minnie (and husband, Kevin) Trump of Warsaw, Indiana; Melinda (and husband, Mark) Opachan, Hawaii; and Beth Ann (and husband, Mario) Valtiera of Lowell, Indiana; 3 brothers: Ray Hanish, Claypool; Ron Furst, Crown Point, Indiana; and John (and wife, Rhonda) Hanish of Jasonville, Indiana; maternal grandparents: Russell and Lois Hoagland, Hebron; and paternal grandparents: Chuck and Myrtle Hanish of Schererville, Indiana.
The family has asked that memorial gifts be directed to Titus Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
Jennifer’s life will be celebrated at a gathering beginning at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 22nd in Jennifer and Troy’s home: 405 E. Rochester Street, Akron, Indiana 46910.
