Jerry Black, age 76, passed away on July 20, 2024 at Sage Bluff Health and Rehab in Fort Wayne after battling his health for several years. Jerry was born on August 5, 1947 at Lucky Hospital in Wolf Lake, IN to Frank and Evelyn (Gawthrop) Black.

He spent most of his life in the Warsaw area. He was an eagle scout and gave credit to scouting as grounds for how he chose to live his life - good morals, ethics and how to treat others. 

He graduated from Warsaw High School and later Indiana Business College. Following his studies, he was called to serve in the US. Army. During his time in the military, served in the 5th Division in Finance, 

Professionally, his career was as a Finance Manager for Zimmer. Colleagues remember him as a mentor who always took the time to guide others. Beyond his work life, Jerry was a man of quiet faith. He was known for his willingness to assist others with financial matters and volunteered as Treasurer at the Kosciusko County Historical Society.

More personally he enjoyed time spent outdoors, traveling with his wife and served on the Kosciusko County Sheriff Reserve for many years.

Jerry is survived by by his wife of 54 years, Connie (Mosier) Black; his children: Amy Black of Warsaw; Jon and wife, Rachel Black of Warsaw; four grandchildren: Meghan Wiseman, fiancé, Gregg Lothamer; Nathaniel Wiseman a significant other Aowyn Galvan; Colten Stafford; Ava Black and sister, Linda Black.
