Jerry Allen Hapner

Jerry Allen Hapner, 81, of Syracuse, IN passed away at 9:15 a.m. on Friday, November 20, 2020 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Syracuse, IN. He was born on October 13, 1939 in Warsaw, IN to James Edward & Martha Mildred (Richcreek) Hapner.

He was a lifetime Syracuse area resident, graduated in 1957 from Syracuse High School, and was a United States Army veteran. He was married on November 21, 1964 in Syracuse, IN to Carolyn Sue Denton who survives. He formerly worked at Johnson Controls in Goshen, StarCraft in Goshen, Newmar in Nappanee, New Market in Syracuse, Barth Manufacturing in Milford, Quality Cedar Products in Syracuse, Sea Nymph in Syracuse, Reimer's Ice in North Webster, and U Store It in Syracuse. He was the owner / operator of Hapner Home Care & Lawn Maintenance in Syracuse.

He attended the Vineyard Community Church in Syracuse and formerly attended the Zion Chapel in Goshen and Syracuse Church of the Brethren.

He is survived by:

Wife – Carolyn Hapner of Syracuse

3 Daughters – Cynthia Sue (Moses) Mihingo of Syracuse, Irene Renee Hapner of Syracuse, and Faith Christine Hapner of Bellefontaine, OH

Son – John Allen (Kim) Hapner of Syracuse

10 Grand & 17 Gt. Grandchildren

2 Brothers – Fred (Ann) Hapner & Joe (JoAnn) Hapner both of Syracuse

He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters – Joyce Kitson & Delores Gerber.

Visitation will be from 2:00 – 4:00 & 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 in the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Solomon Creek Cemetery near Benton.
