Jerry L. Harris

Jerry L. Harris, 79, of Leesburg, IN passed away at 6:30 a.m. on Sunday, September 15, 2019 at his residence.  He was born on January 3, 1940 in Marion, IN to Wilford & Anna E. (Surface) Harris.

He grew up in Marion, graduated from Marion High School in 1958, and served in the United States Army.  He was married to Valerie L. Everhart on April 14, 1979 in Marion and retired in 1985 from the Marion Fire Department after 20 years.  He moved to the Leesburg area from Marion 30 years ago.

He is survived by:

Wife – Valerie Harris of Leesburg

Daughter – Michelle Gilmore of North Webster, IN

Son – Thomas (Cassie) Dodson of Leesburg

5 Grandchildren – MSgt Dominic Wimsatt, Cameron Harris, Duke Gilmore, Christian Dodson, & Kylie Dodson

6 Gt. Grandchildren

Sister- Jackie Nieverson of Marion

A private family service will take place at a later date. Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. St. Rd 15, Warsaw, IN is in charge of arrangements.
