Jerry Lee Stutzman, 79, of Syracuse, IN passed away at 8:50 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at Avalon Village Healthcare in Ligonier, IN. He was born on May 2, 1941 in Hutchison County, KS to Jerry J. & Alma (Stutzman) Stutzman.
He graduated in 1959 from Atwood High School and was a United States Army veteran. He was married on January 20, 1963 in North Manchester, IN to Sally K. Yoder who survives and moved to Syracuse in 1965 from Wakarusa, IN. He was a meat cutter in Nappanee, Syracuse, and Milford for 20 + years, former owner / operator of Voortman Cookie Route, and along with his brothers’ owned a cleaning service in Syracuse for many years.
He was a member of the Hope Church in Atwood and formerly attended the Church of God in Syracuse.
He is survived by:
Wife – Sally Stutzman of Syracuse
2 Sons – Tod Stutzman of Indianapolis and Scott (Chuck Ratliff) Stutzman of Galloway, OH
4 Sisters – Clara Bell Yoder of Plain City, OH, Rosetta Coblentz of Sarasota, FL, Elfreda (Richard) Ward of Plymouth, and Marie Myers of Warsaw
Brother – Larry Stutzman of Plymouth
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters – Frances Cox & Alice Powers, and brother – William Stutzman.
Visitation will be from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 28, 2020 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 29, 2020 at Hope Church, 2134 N. 700W, Warsaw, IN (Atwood) with Pastor Randy Foreman officiating. Burial will follow in the Stoney Point Cemetery.
