Jessie G. Slone

Jessie Garner Slone, a beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 21, 2025, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne at the age of 67. Born on August 10, 1957, in Meridian, Mississippi, she was the daughter of Floyd and Elizabeth Swindle (Todd). Jessie was known for her kind, loving nature and family-oriented spirit.

Jessie dedicated her life to caring for others, not only as a stay-at-home mom but also by running a home daycare and driving a school bus. Her commitment to nurturing children extended beyond her immediate family, as she played a significant role in the lives of many. She was married to her late husband, Randy Slone, on July 19, 1975, and together they built a life filled with love and dedication to their family.

In her spare time, Jessie found joy in tending to her flower garden, spending time with family, visiting auctions, and working in her hobby shop. Her warmth and gentle demeanor touched many lives, creating cherished memories that will carry on in the hearts of her family and friends.

She was the proud mother of her daughter, Rachel Sanford. She cherished her role as a grandmother to Joshua Robert Slone, Patience Marie Slone, and Gavin James Truex. She is also remembered by her siblings: Catherine Jay, Cecilia (Bob) Vickers, Alex (Debbie) Swindle, Barbara (Donny) Weaver, Wesley (Renee) Swindle, Andy Swindle, Iion Stephen, and Clayton (Abigail) Swindle. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Randy Slone; her son, Scott Anthony Slone; and her brother, Jack Swindle.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 25, 2025, at Titus Funeral Home of Warsaw, 2000 Sheridan St. Warsaw, IN, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 11:00 am with the doors opening one hour prior. Pastor John Dodson will be officiating.
