Joan L. Gudas

Joan L. Gudas, 74, of Leesburg, IN passed away at 12:28 p.m. on Thursday, November 6, 2014 at I.U. Goshen Hospital in Goshen, IN. She was born on August 14, 1940 in Fort Wayne IN to William Raymond & Hulda S. (Volmerding) Leedy.

She graduated in 1958 from North Side High School in Fort Wayne and attended I.P.F.W in Fort Wayne. She was married on April 8, 1961 in Fort Wayne to Wayne Edward Williams who preceded her on March 14, 1991. She was then married on April 19, 1996 in Fort Wayne to Joseph L. “Joe” Gudas Jr. who preceded her on March 12, 2014. She formerly worked at Fort Wayne Community Schools as a Special Education Aide for 20 years and at the Sturgis Iron and Metal Scrap in Fort Wayne. She moved to the Leesburg area permanently in 2003 from Fort Wayne after coming to the lakes for many years.

She was a member of the North Webster Church of God, American Legion Post 253 Auxiliary in North Webster and Kappa Kappa Sigma Sorority.

She is survived by:
2 Sons – Thomas (Janice) Williams of Pierceton & Michael (Carol) Williams of Leesburg
1 Grandson, 5 Step Grand & 1 Step Gt. Granddaughter

She was preceded by her parents, husbands, & brother – Clyde Leedy.

Visitation will be from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Monday, November 10, 2014 at Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd. 13 & C.R. 500N, North Webster, IN. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 in the funeral home with Pastor Dennis Judy officiating. Burial will be at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday in the Greenlawn Memorial Park Chapel, 6600 Covington Rd, Fort Wayne, IN.
