JoAnn Bernthal

JoAnn Bernthal, 70, of Leesburg, IN passed away at 1:05 p.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Mason Healthcare & Rehab in Warsaw, IN. She was born on
January 23, 1944 in Detroit, MI to Edward P. & Suzanna (Candell) Fielding.

She grew up in Michigan, graduated from Edison Ford High School in Detroit, MI and was an Army veteran. On July 12, 1988 in Carmel, CA she married Robert Max “Bob” Bernthal who survives. She formerly worked at Santa Clara University in Santa Clara, CA as a secretary and at a medical clinic in Lake Havasu, AZ. She lived many places throughout her life and for 8 years in Arizona before moving to the Leesburg / North Webster area in 2006.

She formerly attended the Lutheran Church in Arkansas.

She is survived by:

2 Daughter– Dawn (Shannon) Crites of Leesburg & Mareen Walker of Nashville, TN
Step Daughter - Marci (Dan) Cardoza of Springfield MO
Granddaughter - Shayleen
1 Granddaughter, Step Grand & Step Gt. Grandchildren
Sister – Pat (Jerry) Gourley of Michigan
Brother – Robert (Pat) Fielding of Michigan

She was preceded in death by her parents.

There will be no public services. Private family services will be held at a later date.

Memorial bequest may be given to Donor’s choice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
