Joanne Vera Holbrook passed away in Kosciusko Community Hospital in the early hours of Thursday, January 19, 2017. She was 86 years old.
Born on September 24, 1930, she was born to Dale Babcock and Vera Cartwright in Warsaw, Indiana. It was here, in Warsaw, where she would spend most of her adult life and where she would marry Richard Holbrook, Sr.
Joanne was a loving mother and grandmother who treasured her family and the Lord. Described as an incredibly caring woman, she also enjoyed painting in her free time.
Those who survive include her son, Doug Holbrook; her grandchildren; Richard (Stefanie) Holbrook, Mark (Stacy) Holbrook, Angie (Rusty) Cassell, Tina (Brian) Gilstrap, Shelly (Tracy) Blocher and Josh (Heather) Holbrook. She is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.
Those preceding Joanne in passing include her husband, Richard Holbrook, Sr.; two sons, Steven Holbrook and Daniel Holbrook; great-grandson, Daniel Holbrook; sister, Wanda Brown; brother, Jim Babcock and her parents.
Friends may gather with the family to celebrate Joanne’s life at New Life Christian Church and World Outreach, 744 S 325 E, Warsaw, IN 46582, on Sunday, January 22nd at 2 PM. New Life’s Pastor John Lowe will officiate. Burial will be Warsaw’s Oakwood Cemetery at a later date.
