Johnny G. Szoldrak, of Warsaw, passed away surrounded by his family at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at the age of 73.
Born on August 13, 1949, in Braskereidfoss, Norway, he was the son of Roman and Edith Szoldrak (Johnsen). Johnny moved to
the United States in 1976. On December 24, 1984, in Miami, Florida, he married Becky Coonce. The two shared 38 years together, raising their three children. Professionally, Johnny worked as a maintenance mechanic for Kosciusko Community Hospital for over 20 years until his retirement in 2019.
Johnny had a passion for motorcycles, especially vintage Japanese motorcycles. He loved racing them and even broke the Bonneville record. As the fun-loving, people person he was, Johnny was a great storyteller and loved to make jokes with his friends and family. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing in his spare time.
Those who survive with his memories to cherish are his wife, Becky; daughter, Kayla (Jason) Wynkoop; sons, Kip and Kyle Szoldrak; grandsons, Harrison Wynkoop, Sawyer Wynkoop, and Everett Wynkoop; and sister, Elisabeth Nervseen. He is further survived by extended family members and friends. He is preceded in passing by his parents, brother, Erling Szoldrak; and sister, Judith Stokkerud.
