John Crawford, 82, passed away Friday, June 19, 2015 at 12:00 Noon in Parkview Whitley Hospital, Columbia City, Indiana.
John was born November 17, 1932 in Gallipolis, Ohio to Robert and Ethel (Shoemaker) Crawford.
He was married to Sharon Smith who preceded him in death. John was a janitor for Wabash Valley and was a real people person who loved joking around. He also loved to walk and dance.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law: Robert “Dean” and Cindy Crawford and a daughter and son-in-law: Cathy and Mike Shilling – all of Pierceton, Indiana. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
John was preceded in death by his first wife: Oma Hall who passed away December 15, 2011; his second wife, Sharon; daughter: Judy C. Amburgey, October 7, 1999; and son: Ricky Crawford on April 30, 2010.
Family and friends will gather at TITUS FUNERAL HOME, 2000 E. Sheridan Street, Warsaw, Indiana 46580 for time of sharing in support of one another Monday, June 22nd from 6-8 PM. A service celebrating the life of John Crawford will begin at 3 PM Tuesday, June 23rd in the funeral home. Rev. Henry “Junior” Arnett of Water of Life Church in Silver Lake, Indiana will officiate. Burial will take place at a later date in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
The family has asked that gifts in John’s memory be given to a charity of choice or simple acts of kindness may be done for others in his memory.
