John Hanish

Biography
John E. Hanish passed away quietly on Friday, April 14, 2017 at 3:08 PM in Kosciusko Community Hospital in Warsaw, Indiana. He was 81 years old at the time of his death.
John was born on June 29, 1935 in Hammond, Indiana. He was the son of Chuck and Myrtle (Shavey) Hanish.
On December 14, 1968, John would be married to Dorothy “Dottie” Hoagland in Crown Point. Together the two would share more than 48 years and many happy memories. Dottie survives at Beaver Dam Lake where the two made their home.
John had retired in 1988 from Ford Motor Company where he worked as an assembler in their Chicago Heights, Illinois plant. He had been with Ford for 32 years at this retirement.
He was a member of the Beaver Dam and Loon Lake Conservation Club and an avid fisherman. He also enjoyed landscaping his yard and loved hunting.
In addition to his loving wife, Dottie Hanish, those left to cherish John’s memory include his five daughters: Sharon Prentice of Hobart, Indiana, Roxanne (Mike) Collins of Woodleaf, North Carolina, Minnie (Kevin) Trump of Warsaw, Melinda (Mark) Opachan of Honolulu, Hawaii and Beth Ann (Mario) Valtierra of Lowell, Indiana; three sons: Ray Hanish of Claypool, Indiana, Ron Furst of Crown Point, Indiana and John (Rhonda) Hanish of Jasonville, Indiana; son-in-law, Troy Denton of Akron, Indiana; 18 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; sister, Darlene McHugh, Valparaiso, Indiana and brother, David Hanish of Hammond, Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer Hanish on July 18, 2016, by three brothers: Carl, Don and Kenneth Hanish, and by his parents.
Friends will receive family for a time of visitation and to share memories on Saturday, April 22, from 11 AM to 1 PM in Titus Funeral Home, 2000 East Sheridan Street in Warsaw. A funeral service will follow at 1 PM and will be officiated by Pastor Dennis Bollenbacher, chaplain of Mason Health and Rehabilitation Center, Warsaw.
Memorial gifts may be made in John’s memory to the Beaver Dam and Loon Lake Conservation Club, 7271 West Bensart Drive, Claypool, IN 46510.
