John E. Ulmer, 87, of Warsaw, IN passed away at 5:41 a.m. on Saturday, December 31, 2011 at the Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home in Fort Wayne, IN. He was born on June 11, 1924 in Huntington, IN to Harry & Frances (Hughes) Ulmer.
He graduated in 1942 from Bluffton High School in Bluffton, IN and was married on August 19, 1943 in Bryant, OH to Mary L. Mitchell who survives. He retired in 1995 from Emge Packing Co. in Anderson, IN, was the former owner / operator of Ulmer’s Freezer Beef in Chesterfield & Pendleton, IN and was also formerly employed in North Manchester, Huntington and Muncie IN, working many of those years for A&P. He lived in Huntington, Anderson and Chesterfield areas before moving to Kosciusko County in 1998.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 5 sisters - Esther Mossburg, Helen McKinney, Mary Alice Frye, Wanda Speece and Joann Ramseyer.
Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at the Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd. 13 & CR 500N, North Webster, IN with Pastor Myron Drent of the Country Bible Church officiating.
Memorial bequest may be given to Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home, 5910 Homestead Rd., Fort Wayne, IN 46514. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
