John F. Williams, a beloved figure known for his sense of humor and wit, passed away in Warsaw on February 17, 2025, at the age of 77. Born on September 19, 1947, in Plymouth, John’s life was marked by his dedication to family, love for sports, and passion for reading.
John served proudly in the Air Force, showcasing his commitment to his country. His love for sports was well-known, with a particular fondness for the Chicago Cubs and Notre Dame. Additionally, he spent many hours reading, with interests ranging from western and military history to an appreciation for dictionaries, reflecting his inquisitive mind and love for knowledge.
Family was paramount in John's life. He is survived by his daughter, Nicole (Eric) Heckaman, and his cherished grandchildren, Abby, Drew, and Adrian Heckaman. He leaves behind a sister, Diana (Tim) Twiss, who together shared in his life’s many joys and challenges, along with dear friends David (Toni) Parsons and Pete (Peggy) Goodwin. John was preceded in death by his wife, Dawn, whose memory remained a treasured part of his life, parents, a brother, Walter "Butch" Jr., and three sisters: Ruth Wathen, Mary Lee Rudd, and Jean Wintrode.
Titus Funeral Home and Cremation Services is entrusted with John's care. A private graveside will take place at South Germany Cemetery in Rochester, IN. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Riley Foundation, 500 N Meridian St #100, Indianapolis, IN 46204.
