John Charles Evans, 65, of Pierceton, IN passed away at 11:55 a.m. on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at his home. He was born on December 11, 1950 in Muncie, IN to John & Millicent V. (McColley) Evans who preceded him.

He was a lifetime area resident, grew up with parents, Millie & Clyde Campbell, and graduated in 1969 from Wawasee High School. He was married on July 20, 1969 in North Webster, IN to Patricia Ann “Pat” Bisig who survives. He retired in 2006 from Northern Indiana Public Service Company (NIPSCO) after 33 years where he worked in the gas departments.

He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post #253 in North Webster and the Bass Club. He was an avid fisherman and was the Kosciusko County Baseball Batting Champion in high school.

He is survived by:

Wife – Pat Evans of Pierceton

Son – Shane (Patricia) Evans of North Webster

Daughter – Stacie (Nick) Koedyker of Leesburg

Grandson – Blake Wagner

Father – Clyde Campbell of Leesburg

Brother – Edd (Bridgett) Campbell of Warsaw

He was also preceded in death by his brother – Doug “Spanky” Evans.

Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Monday, March 28, 2016 at Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd. 13 & CR 500N, North Webster, IN. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at the funeral home with Father Larry Biller of the All Saints Episcopal Church in Syracuse officiating. Burial will follow in the Leesburg Cemetery.

Preferred memorials may be given to Great Lakes Hospice, 334 Enterprise Drive, Warsaw, Indiana 46580 or Sons of the American Legion, P.O. Box 131, North Webster, IN 46555. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
