John J. Whybrew, 65, of Kendallville, IN passed away at 1:06 a.m. on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at Parkview Noble Hospital in Kendallville, IN. He was born on March 3, 1952 in Mishawaka, IN to John E. & Beverly J. (Brugh) Whybrew.

He graduated in 1971 from Wawasee High School in Syracuse, IN and was married on August 15, 1998 to Patricia “Patty” Czuj who survives. He was formerly employed at Dana Corporation in Syracuse for 23 years. He lived most of his life in the Syracuse area and lived in Michigan before moving to Kendallville a year ago.

He was member of the Sons of the American Legion Post #253 in North Webster.

He is survived by:

Wife – Patty Whybrew

Son – Ryan (Hannah) Whybrew

Daughter – Casey Czuj

2 Sisters – Vickie (Robert) Preston & Sherry (Al) Andres

Niece – Tammy Floyd

Brother in Law – Larry Riedenbach

3 Step Brothers – Mark (Audrey) Parr, Andrew (Beth) Stevens Jr., and Nicholas (Nancy) Stevens

Lifelong Friends – Rick & Mitzi Reber

He was preceded in death by his parents & step sister – Leslie Reidenbach.

Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. St. Rd 15, Warsaw, IN. No services are planned. A private family scattering will be held at a later date.  Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN is in charge of arrangements.

Preferred memorials may be given to the donor’s choice.
