John R. Jansma

John R. Jansma, 85, of Leesburg, IN passed away at 6:15 a.m. on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at Mason Healthcare & Rehab in Warsaw, IN. He was born on June 12, 1935 in Cook County, IL to William & Ruth Emily (Brei) Jansma.

He graduated from Bloom High School in Chicago Heights, IL and was a United States Air Force veteran. He lived most of his life in Chicago area before moving to Leesburg in 1987. He was a truck driver for several years and was the former owner / operator of Suburban Boat and Camper in Illinois & Plaza Marina in Leesburg.

He was a member of the American Legion Post 253 in North Webster.

He is survived by:

2 Sons – Timothy Jansma & Robert Jansma both of Leesburg

1 Grandson & 1 Gt. Grandson

Sister – Virginia (Wayne) Hunley of Leesburg

Brother – Jerry (Judy) Jansma of Lake Ozark, MO

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. St. Rd 15, Warsaw, IN. Private family burial will take place in the Oakwood cemetery in Chicago, IL at a later date.
