John T. “Jack” Staker, 89, of North Webster, IN passed away at 10:10 a.m. on Friday, May 6, 2016 at Lakeland Rehab and Healthcare in Milford, IN. He was born on March 1, 1927 in Bluffton, IN to Glynn Franklin & Julia (Porter) Staker.
He graduated from High School in Bluffton and was a United States Navy veteran. He was formerly employed as a security guard at Plymouth Harbor in Sarasota, FL for several years and was the former owner / operator of Jack’s Place in Waynedale, IN for many years. He grew up in Bluffton, lived many years in Waynedale and moved to the Warsaw / North Webster area 7 years ago from Bradenton, FL where he had lived since 1976.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 253 in North Webster and formerly attended the Trinity Episcopal Church in Fort Wayne.
He is survived by:
4 Daughters – Vickie Kaze, Debbie VanCuren, Nancy Staker, all of North Webster, and Cindy (Jeff) Fall of Warsaw
9 Grand & 15 Gt. Grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers – Glynn Staker Jr. & Jim Staker.
Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. St. Rd. 15, Warsaw, IN. Private family burial will take place at the Mock Addition of the North Webster Cemetery with Pastor Sunday Adelakin officiating. Military services will be performed by the United Sates Navy Honor Guard and American Legion Post 253 in North Webster. Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd. 13 & CR 500N, North Webster, IN is in charge of arrangements.
