Jonathan C. Mauk, age 47, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 20th in Delaware County near Muncie. Known to most as “Jonny,” he was a lifetime Warsaw area resident and was the son of Jonathan R. and Judy Carol (Marsillett) Mauk. He was raised in the family home with his two sisters and attended Warsaw High School.
Jonny was smart and witty. He made friends easily and could make any story come to life as he was good with words. Kindhearted and giving, he was very proud of his children and cherished time spent with them and with his nieces and nephews. He enjoyed tinkering with electronics, building computers and was a talented artist. He also enjoyed NASCAR, his favorite driver being, Dale Earnhardt, Jr. and classic martial arts films, his favorite performer being Bruce Lee.
Those surviving with memories to cherish include his children: Zakkary Pifer, Ryley Mauk and Mason Mauk; a grandson, Isaac; his parents, Jon and Judy Mauk and two sisters: Michelle (Chris) Wehr and Jenny (Phillip) Waddle – all of Warsaw. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, all of whom Jonny loved dearly. Both sets of grandparents preceded him in passing.
A Life Celebration® will be held on Saturday, December 28th at Warsaw Family Worship Center, 1250 Husky Trail, Warsaw with Pastor William Whitaker officiating. Visitors will be welcomed from 11 to 1 p.m. with the funeral beginning at 1 o’clock. Titus Funeral Home is caring for the family.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial gifts be applied to defray the cost of funeral expenses. Gifts may be made to Titus Funeral Home, 2000 East Sheridan Street, Warsaw, Indiana 46580 with Jonny Mauk noted in the memo line.
