Jonathan Clay Stayton, known to most as Jon, passed away quietly surrounded by his family on Monday, November 11, 2024, at the Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne at the age of 38. He was born in Elkhart on March 26, 1986, the son of David and Diane Stayton (Quimbach).
Jon was a 2004 graduate of Northrop High School. His time at school was marked by a passion for the arts and athletics; he was not only a talented musician who played the saxophone in the marching band, but also an accomplished cross-country runner. After graduating, he went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in interior design from IPFW in 2010.
Jon was an artist at heart, known for creating clay models and other art. He also was a devoted cat lover and enjoyed traveling and exploring new places. His true passion was playing video games of all kinds.
He is survived by his parents, David and Diane Stayton; his sister, Katelyn Stayton; his half-brother, Laren Stayton; and his treasured nephews, Jaylyn and Karter Stayton. He is further survived by many aunts, uncles, and extended family. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clayton and Carol Jean Quimbach and Lauren and Katie Stayton.
