Josephine D. Durecki passed away on Monday, March 27, 2017 at 11:10 AM in her Warsaw, Indiana residence, having turned 85 that same day. She was surrounded by her loving children at the time of her death.
She was born on March 27, 1932 in Detroit, Michigan to Frank and Martha (Pietrowski) Dolecki. She would graduate from high school in Detroit and, on June 25, 1955, she was united in marriage to Donald A. Durecki.
Josephine had worked as a medical transcriptionist in Madison Heights, Michigan for many years, moving to Warsaw in 2004.
She was a very active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Warsaw. She was also a loving grandmother who enjoyed traveling when she could.
Josephine is survived, but not forgotten by her three children – sons, Dr. Donald A. (Michele) Durecki, Jr. of Winona Lake, Indiana and Daniel (Lisa) Durecki of Macomb, Michigan; daughter, Donna (Gary) Tremblay of Carmel, Indiana; and seven grandchildren: Gary, Scott, Nick, Marta, Kara, Brynn and Blake.
She was preceded in passing by her husband of more than fifty years, Donald A. Durecki, Sr. who died on August 2, 2009. She was also preceded in death by her three brothers, George, Harry and Herbert Dolecki.
A Rosary service will be held on Saturday, April 8th at 10:30 AM in Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 AM in the Church with Father Phil DeVolder officiating. Those wishing to attend may gather at 10 AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that sympathetic expressions be directed to Sacred Heart Women of Grace or the Sacred Heart Haiti Fund¸125 North Harrison Street, Warsaw, Indiana 46580.
