Josephine Fields passed away Thursday, October 8, 2015, at 8:55 a.m. in Signature Health Care of Bremen (Indiana). She was 83.
One of eleven children, Josephine was born March 31, 1932 in Prestonsburg, Kentucky to Albert and Anna (Stephens) Hall.
On July 31, 1951 she and Okie Fields were joined in marriage. He would precede her death in 1981.
Coming from Wabash, she lived in Packerton, Indiana for 47 years as a homemaker and was a member of Old United Baptist Church.
She is survived by 3 sons and 2 daughters. They are: Okie Lee (and Pam) Hall of Packerton; Arthur Fields, Mentone, Indiana; Tommie Fields of Leesburg, Indiana; Kathryn Yates, Clunette, Indiana and Irene Black, Etna Green, Indiana. Also surviving are 20 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 7 great, great grandchildren, 1 step grandchild, 2 sisters: Mary Jane England of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Geneva Stephens of Marion, Ohio.
In addition to her husband, Josephine was preceded in death by a son, Ronnie Fields, in 1959. Six sisters and 2 brothers also preceded her in death; they are: Bessie Wallen (December 18, 2013), Edith Collins, Mabel Prater, Eve Hall, Ethel Hall, Ruth Ousley, Boby Hall (May 2004) and Elbert Hall (December 19, 2003).
Family and friends will gather for a time of sharing memories in support of one another Sunday, October 11th from 3-7 PM at TITUS FUNERAL HOME, 2000 E. Sheridan Street, Warsaw, Indiana 46580. A funeral celebrating the life of Josephine Fields will take place Monday the 12th beginning at 10:30 a.m. Pastor Glen Hall of Warsaw Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery (Silver Lake, Indiana).
The family has asked that gifts in Josephine’s memory be given to a charity of choice or simple acts of kindness may be done for others in her memory.
