Joseph Kenzel "Pops" McKnight, 80, of Syracuse, IN passed away at 6:10 a.m. on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Millers Merry Manor in Syracuse. He was born on December 12, 1931 in Lexington, OK to John S. & Dovie (Agee) McKnight.
He grew up and graduated in 1949 from high school in Oklahoma. He was a Korean Army veteran and was married on October 6, 1951 in Tennessee to Fay M. Stewart who preceded him on June 3, 2006. He retired in 1986 from General Motors in St. Louis, MO and moved to Syracuse in January 2010 from Columbia, IL.
He was formerly affiliated with the World Wide Church of God.
He is survived by:
Daughter – Mrs. John (Eva Jo) Blackburn of Syracuse; Mrs. Andy (Sharon) White of Fort Worth, TX; & Mrs. Weldon (Aleice) Moser of Wichita Falls, TX
11 Grand & 15 Gt. Grand, & 2 Gt. Gt. Grandchildren
3 Sisters – Mrs. George (Emma) Smith of CA; Mrs. Kenneth (Patricia) Van Cleave of WA; & Barbara Channell of CA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son – Walter Joseph McKnight, 2 Grandsons – Andrew Bowser & Donald Norris, 2 Gt. Grandchildren – Drake Norris & Kenyon Mikkel Bowser.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
