Joseph L. "Joe" Gudas Jr., 86, of Leesburg, IN passed away at 10:05 p.m. on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at his residence. He was born on May 11, 1927 in Foley, AL to Joseph L. & Antonio Agatha (Arndt) Gudas Sr.

He attended high school in Winamac, IN and served in the United States Air Force.  He was married to Marcia Kagin who preceded him in death in January 1991 and then on April 19, 1996 in Fort Wayne, IN he married Joan L. (Leedy) Williams who survives. He was a self-employed plumbing & heating contractor in Fort Wayne for many years. He moved to the Leesburg area permanently in 2003 from Fort Wayne after coming to the lake for many years.

He was a member of the North Webster Church of God, American Legion Post 253 in North Webster, Lakeland Kiwanis in North Webster, & Shoaff Park Lions Club in Fort Wayne.

He is survived by:
Wife – Joan Gudas of Leesburg
3 Daughters – Cynthia Heckmen of New Haven, IN , Peggy (Michael) Miller of Goodyear, AZ, & Rebecca (Richard) Boone of Columbia City, IN
2 Step Sons – Thomas (Janice) Williams of Pierceton & Michael (Carol) Williams of Leesburg
11 Grand & several Gt. Grandchildren
4 Sisters – Mildred Redweik of Kewanna, Edwinna Martin of Winamac, Mary (Jim) Perry of Piqua, OH & Johanna Gudas of Winamac
2 Brothers – Algrid (Erica) Gudas of Winamac, Edwin (Patty) Gudas of Kewanna

He was preceded in death by parents, wife & 2 infant brothers.

Visitation will be from  2:00- 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 16, 2014 at Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd. 13 & C.R. 500N, North Webster, IN. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 17, 2014 at the funeral home with Pastor Dennis Judy officiating. Military services will follow at the funeral home by North Webster American Legion. Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Monday in the Covington Memorial Cemetery, 8408 Covington Rd, Fort Wayne, IN.

Memorial bequest may be given to the Joseph Gudas Funeral Fund, c/o Owen Family Funeral Home P.O. Box 72, North Webster, IN 46555. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
