Joseph Wildermuth, 98, passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at Hickory Creek Health Care in Rochester, IN. He was born on September 2, 1922 on the family farm near Millark, IN, the son of Solomon Ray and Iona Rae (Blacketor) Wildermuth.
In 1944 he married Garnet Wright and she passed away in 1995. In 1998 he married Betty Steen and she passed away in 2015. Joe was proud to have served in the navy aboard a destroyer escort during World War II. After the war he graduated from Purdue University. He taught math and science at North Miami High School. After retiring from teaching, he volunteered at Wee Care Day Care helping the children use the computers and learn to play chess.
He is survived by two daughters, Theressa (Bert) Sterk of Akron and Jane Ann (Ted) Bailey of Hart, MI; two sons, Mark (Diane) Wildermuth of Akron and Mike (Sandy) Wildermuth of Macy; as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Private services will be held at a later date. Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. St. Rd. 15, Warsaw, IN is in charge of arrangements.
